Marche Region, in the framework of its planning activities and with reference to the experience acquired in European Projects, intends to propose a moment for debating and reflecting on the evolution of a sector, in-between the auto-transport and the manufacture fields, which offers a set of interesting opportunities not only for local economy but also for environmental sustainability.

The chance of accessing to innovative logistic solutions guarantees to the enterprises an unquestionable benefit for competitiveness, a benefit that, however, should be considered more a necessity than an opportunity. In other words, the evolution of transport systems, both of goods and information is becoming more and more a must not only for productive activities but also for territorial policy making.

This growth cannot be considered as a matter of fact, but requires a particular commitment of all the stakeholders: from producers to logistic providers, from public administration to social interest groups, in order to make a real cultural leap and to rethink the organizational structures, especially in the SMEs’ districts.

During the first day, the conference will focus on the dissemination of the results of the I-Log pilot projects, that will be presented by all the 23 partners, coming from 7 different European countries. These presentations will represent an important occasion for verifying and debating on the innovative logistic solutions tested within I-Log, in order to enhance European SMEs competitiveness.

The second day will be dedicated to a more comprehensive discussion on the perspectives of logistic innovation in Europe. To maximize the scope for practical exchanges of experience, the event will be based around different sessions of workshops bringing together policy makers, businesses and business organizations, universities, technology transfer specialists. They will discuss in on the most recent topics in the field of transport and logistics, in order to identify the perspectives for a sector which is playing a more and more important role in European economy.
